Boosting Traffic To Discount Code Sites

Ok, you run a selection of discount codes and you need a way to boost your conversions. Can it be done? Is it easy?

In both cases, yes! Retailers like Comet, Currys, Dixons, etc, are the first stop for online shoppers looking to pick up bargains on things like new LCD TV’s, media centres, appliances, etc. So how does this help the average marketer? Simple: roll up your deals with your discount codes!

This is an obvious departure from the niche marketing and requires more effort but there’s method in the madness of doing more work. Ok, so your website ranks no.1 for, say, the Sony KD32EX403U LCD TV (that’s one of my links that I couldn’t resist…). You’re getting lots of traffic – 400/500 hits per month – but you’re making almost no sales. Problem? Discount code websites.

The internet shopper is savvy; they know how to find the latest deals and bargains. They also know how to do research so your stats are reflecting their initial research phase where they’re digging up info on a specific product. Deeper searches will use modifiers such as, reviews, specs, etc. Once the shopper is armed with all the information they need it’s time to search for… a discount/coupon code. Here’s where you can win.

Many niche markerters use price comparison units which, whilst good, don’t compensate for online buyers who are looking for coupons. The simple solution here is to add a coupon to your site. You could a retailer specific page linked to from you product page. Why not make it simpler for the shopper? Stick the voucher right beside the retailer. Make it easy for the buyer and watch your conversions rise.
